OUGD601 - Discussion with Simon about change of proposal

Psychology and design possible topics:

Social Influence - Specific actions that have predictable outcomes on the human behaviour.

Progress Disclosure - Learning is difficult die to storing information being a high energy, high focus process. 
Information needs to be presented in a certain way for it to be easier to absorb. 
Links between layout design/editorial design and the absorption of information?
Von Restoff Effect -  When something is different it is remembered. (Isolation design)
Anchoring Bias - We rely heavily on the first piece of information we see. 
Pavlovian theory of classical conditioning  - experiment: Pavlovs dog. Implications in designing: Classical conditioning can influence the behaviour of observers who believe an action or image work to associate an idea with an emotional response. 

Psychoanalysis and Brand Design:
Both look at the identity of a person - one of a company organisation or institution.
Psychoanalysis: Method that reveals the way in which a person gives meaning to the and imagines the reality. 
Brand Design: Visual representation of an entity such as an institution, organisation or company. 

Could psychoanalysis be use when designing a brand?
